FENG SHUI SELLING TIPS

Feng Shui Selling Tips - Take it to the Top!

Feng Shui is really not a "new age" concept, and many of the tips included here prove that - simply in the practicality of their application.  Therefore, I would encourage you to consider the principles of feng shui to both increase your selling price and reduce the time your home is on the market.   The following simple and inexpensive home selling tips can be used to change the energy in your home to make it more marketable.

DE CLUTTER!  Always, in feng shui, the first rule is to declutter.   The first and best room in which to begin is your kitchen.  Remove the plethora of  appliances we all strew across the counter top and place them in boxes and store them away while your home is being shown.   You will also want to consider taking a good hard look in your  bedroom closets.   It should not be a difficult task to place out of season wardrobes into storage so that potential buyers see MORE SPACE.  Remember, also that storage is one of the biggest selling options for any home.

INCORPORATE FRAGRANCES into your home.  Since first impressions are lasting ones, buyers will connect to uplifting fragrances such as homemade cookies baking or the sweet smell of lemon.

USE COLOR to enhance your home.  In addition to clearing the entrance of clutter , make sure the entry walls are light in colour.   Many homeowners will invest in fresh paint on the main walls before they place their home on the market, because they understand the darker colors makes the entrance feel small and constricting.

DECORATING TIPS:

  1. Freshly cut flowers and plants are a great investment since they cleanse the air and give a feeling of beauty and spaciousness.
  2. The sound of a water fountain or classical music in the background decreases prospective homebuyers' stress.  As you well remember, buying a home is stressful and if you are able to reduce the stress in less than 15 minutes your home will be on the top 3 of their list.
  3. Add a few decorator tips, remove the clutter and make sure the bathroom is immaculate.  Place plants in the room, mist it with a fragrance - make it generally look luxurious and spotless!
